Height: About 58\' with a tight ground pitch - Most users will want to pitch it a few inches off the ground for ventilation and even more space.
Many full length adjustable type trekking poles set at max height can be used without a pole jack **** but a pole jack is recommended and a 6\" one is included***
Extra Ventilation Trick: Pitch the front and/or back side a bit loose and then use the middle tieout on a 3\'
line to pull the side out tight forming an large eyebrow shape edge to let under more air.
40+sq/ft of usable floor space perfect for two people cozy or a palace for one plus a 4-Legged Hiker Buddy.
Peak Vent - Very Large vent is held open by a flexible and removable wand. Can be fully closed to stop any blown snow from entering- Just pull out the wand and press the velcro together- about 5 seconds.
Great for for moderate snow loads and strong wind
1.35 Silnylon - Strong and Fully Waterproof
Long Service Life #5 YKK Water Resistant Zipper w/ Storm Flap
ONLY zip the zipper up OR down when the bottom buckle is fastened to relieve stress on the zipper. Clean and Lube the Zipper as needed.
Interior Apex Hang Loop + Exterior Apex Tieout loop
Both Doors roll open and secure
Eight ground level perimeter tieouts all with LineLocs for easy adjustment. LineLocs make winter use with burried snow anchors MUCH easier.
Four side panel tieouts: Reinforced center panel tieouts on each side for high wind. Use the supplied bungee cord on there tieouts to reduce stress on the shelter. Only tighten slightly so the main bottom edge tieouts take most of the force.
Over head gear hang loops on all four main seams to clip up bivy hoods, lights or to make a clothesline.
May be the ultimate UL shelter for a Solo hiker with Dog
ONLY zip the zipper up OR down when the bottom buckle is fastened to relieve stress on the zipper. Clean and Lube the Zipper as needed.
FREE 6\" Pole Jack- .7oz / 20gms - Some trekking poles will need the pole jack to be tall enough for single pole set up. You may be able to cut it in half to fit your pole length to same more weight.
NOTES:
Most of the time you will want to pitch the corners tight to the ground. The middle long side edge tieouts can then be staked out to give good ventilation along the edge.
For Solo use, angle the pole off center a few inches for more room or for tall users over 6\'1\" and up to 6\'4\" to sleep at a slight diagonal.
For Duo Use, pole goes in the center
For \"Special\" Duo Use- Both hikers connect their poles together to make two long poles and place poles to form a wide inverted V in the Shelter OR find two long long poles and use them on the outside of the shelter to tie up to the Exterior Apex Loop.
ONLY zip the zipper up OR down when the bottom buckle is fastened to relieve stress on the zipper. Clean and Lube the Zipper as needed.
One full length trek pole set at 140 -145cm / 54-56\" will fit if DuoMid is pitched tight to the ground. Higher pitches require a PoleJack (12\"- 1.4oz- optional), rock stand or using a few feet of line to connect two trek poles. (See MLD 2009 Silnylon Mid page for how to easily connect two poles.)
Picture Notes:
Some shots include a 6\'1 185lb model for scale
